- Doing Business with ESA
The Portal “Doing Business with ESA” provides a single point of access to have a business relationship with ESA.
esa-star Registration
esa-star Registration is dedicated to the Registration and Management of external entities. It is integrated with all other esa-star applications and handles all supplier and bidder entity information.
Registration with esa-star is mandatory for all entities who wish to do business with ESA and it is subject to a formal digital approval process performed by ESA.
esa-star allows two levels of entity registration: “Light” and “Full”. This allows new users wishing to do business with ESA to carry out their registration in two steps. A “Light” registration will grant access to all esa-star services up to and including proposal submission. The award of ESA contracts requires “Full” registration.
Moreover, in their esa-star Registration the entities can claim their SME status (Small and medium-sized enterprises) in order to benefit from special SME tendering and payment conditions (when so defined). This status is granted to the entities claiming the SME status after an exhaustive verification by ESA.
The applications that you can access are:
- esa-star Registration: dedicated to the Registration and Management of Entities
- esa-star Tendering: an online tendering system that allows entities to participate in the bidding process by submitting offers to ESA
- esa-star Publication: a portal for accessing tender documentation, news, ESA Interacts and expressing interest in a tender
- esa-match: an industrial matchmaking platform for economic operators, aiming to facilitate partnering, collaboration and cooperation between companies

In General, the Tendering process requires time and effort:
Step 1: Finding Relevant Tenders
- Identifying Opportunities
- Evaluating Suitability
Step 2: Preparing the Bid
- Required Documents
- Crafting Responses
- Building Your Bid Team
Step 3: Writing the Proposal
Addressing the tender requirements when writing a proposal is of course important. This means ensuring you clearly answer each element of the question and sub-questions within it. Referring back to the requirements and relevant elements of the tender specification.
The other key addition being the use of the marking scheme or scoring criteria, which details how your quality tender answers will be evaluated. You should recognise evidence as a key tool in meeting these marking schemes. This includes showcasing relevant case studies and testimonials that demonstrate our previous success and expertise in similar projects.
Ensuring all case studies are recent and relevant, reflecting your capabilities and aligning closely with the tender’s requirements.
Additionally, ensure that the final document is saved in the required format, often as a PDF, to maintain the integrity and formatting of the proposal.
